Chelsea beat Wigan 1-0 this afternoon and apart from the odd glimpse off class it was pretty much a below par performance! Forget any other report, I will tell you exactly as it is. This was a game we should have won easily, every single one of us thought so beforehand and the fact we made a right meal of it doesn't fill me with any confidence ahead of United on Tuesday. Ok we got the three points but can we really hold our heads high comfortable with the fact that we beat them 1-0 knowing that they created a few worrying chances?!
All I ask is that Chelsea play to their strengths, play as well as I know they can and if they do that put the likes of bottom of the league Wigan to bed. Did we do that!? No chance!
Lampard missed a sitter early doors and drifted out the game afterwards, Malouda forced a great save from a Drogna flick on but we never really looked like breaking the deadlock.
Ok we got the scrappy goal from Malouda and Al Habsi made a great save from Torres after great work from Benayoun but did we pose the Wigan defence with enough problems! I don't think so!
Let's be honest here, we need to up our game for Tuesday night big time if we are to have hope of getting past united. Chelsea need to play quicker, be far more decisive and take our chances. Something we didn't do today.
We all were looking for three points and a game to get our confidence back ahead of United. We got three points but that's about it as far as this one goes!
What do you Chelsea fans all over the world think! Do you agree with me! I would love to hear from you all!

Lampard (bless his 501 game contribution) should not be guaranteed a starting place. Hate to say this but he really isn't the same player he was prior to the hernia injury and his auto selection does us no favors. Benayoun looked sharp which is promising esp his link up play.. Hoping for a 1-2 at OT but ... Well, let's hope Torres comes good at the right time...
