£25m for a 17 year old!

So if reports are to be believed, Chelsea have been quoted a figure of £25m if they want to sign one of the hottest properties in Europe, 17 year old Romelu Lukaku. That's the figure his club Anderlecht have apparently quoted anyone interested!.

"Anderlecht general manager Herman van Holsbeeck told Belgian paper Sudpresse there are plenty of teams interested in meeting the valuation: "The Lukaku price in the market is 30m euros.
"It is true that the player was an interest for Real Madrid, but I think his future is in England. Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool have also asked about him but I see him playing in the Premiership."

Now hang on just for a second. We have heard that this kid is being touted as the new Didier Drogba!. We have heard that this kid has had two prolific season's in Belguim but please forgive me and Belgian Blues out there reading this because I mean no disrespect, but how the hell does Belgian football compare with the Premier League.

We could end up paying this ridiculous amount of money to bring him here and he could end up a total flop (and before you say it Torres has a proven track record and WILL come good). How do we think Roman Abramovich is going to feel about paying £25m for a kid who won't start games?.

I know that it's because we are Chelsea and other sides know who our owner is, but seriously!, £25m!.

Ridiculous.
