Ahead of a massive week for Chelsea I am wondering how Carlo Ancelotti will approach both games. With the possibility of qualifying for the quarter finals of the Champions League on Wednesday against Copenhagen and beating City on Sunday to go into third place, one point above them with a game in hand, Carlo needs to decide on his formation(s) and his first team in both games. I wonder if he will decide to rest players on Wednesday ahead of the City game.
I think it's important that we do not take anything for granted against Copenhagen and so Ancelotti MUST name a strong side to ensure we get the right result and progress into the next round. Of course there is an opportunity to rest one or two players ahead of the weekend but maybe more importantly, there is a case for Ancelotti to use Copenhagen as a game to bed in his tactics and formation in advance of City.
For me, especially after having over another weeks rest, we should go with the same team (apart from Luiz) and formation in both games to achieve a level of consistency. The players have Wednesday to sort out any problems they have to take into the next game and will stand us in good stead to take on City and get an important three points.
I would play the following 11 players in BOTH games to start with:
Cech, Bosingwa (Ivanovic v City), Ivanovic (Luiz v City), Terry (c), Cole, Essien, Ramires, Lampard, Malouda, Torres and Anelka.
What do you think of the two games?
KTBFFH.
Maybe for the FC Copenhagen match,Salomon Kalou can come in place of Anelka or most probably Malouda.I think Didier should be included in the corresponding fixture in a role behind Torres.
