Torres & Ivanovic reveal Chelsea haven't given up yet!

Fernando Torres and Branislav Ivanovic have both spoken ahead of the game against City today and have revealed that a win would put us right back in the title race, establishing our position in the top three with the focus being on Arsenal next.

Torres spoke first and said:

“Yes, there are a lot of points between us and the top but we have a head-to-head with United still to come, which will be a pivotal game. The teams at the top of the ­table still have to come to our ground. So we have to play until the last game.

United have a clear advantage and it’s in their hands, but a month ago it looked like we couldn’t fight for a position at the top of the table and in three matches things change.

If we win we can take third place with a game in hand over them which would be a big boost for our confidence levels.

Next up Branislav Ivanovic, and he also reiterated the belief within the squad that although we had a nightmare in November and December, if we win today we are right back in it. He said:

"This is the most important game, against Manchester City, It can change our situation because if we win the game we are still fighting for the title and we are going up on Man City, United and Arsenal, so it has to be a crucial game for us.

If we beat City we can finish on top of them. It is important for us because with this game we can be back on our way."

Both players are giving us the fans the right message. You can imagine in that dressing room the players will take heart from last season, how things changed and we went on a fantastic run that led us to the double. People like Torres, Luiz and Ramires will feed off the hunger and desire of players who have been there, seen it and done it.

Ivanovic is spot on. This is our most important game of the season.
