Following on from my series of posts following on from the Blackpool game last night. The match report, Torres will never fit in at Chelsea unless and Carlo's rotation policy having a negative effect, I would like to add the call for Ancelotti to make the switch back to our tried and trusted 4-3-3 formation and to stick Fernando Torres up top, where is good at, on the shoulder of the defender and through the middle.
If you have read my posts last night especially the Torres one, you will know that I feel as though the players ability is wasted at the moment in a Chelsea shirt and unless the players adapt to his style, rather than him to us, he will never fit in.
The ideal solution and bearing in mind Didier Drogba's form has taken a turn for the worse, is to revert back to our formation so we can play our football as Carlo calls it.
The two up front isn't working. Last night Didier Drogba and Fernando Torres were playing next to each other and playing up alongside each other square. One wasn't making a run in behind or dropping deep to collect the ball, they both were more or less at the same time!. It was only when Kalou came on and Torres pushed up as he played in behind that we started to create chances.
To me our midfield doesn't look as solid or compact in the flat midfield 4 as part of the 4-4-2 formation. We need the balance of the holding midfielder sitting in front of the back four that allows the other two midfielders to get forward and support Torres and the wide men.
Obviously we do not have another game now until Copenhagen next week but I would like to see Ancelotti revert to the 4-3-3 as I believe we have a better balance overall as a team and it will suit someone like Torres down to the ground and could see him start to score goals by playing through the middle on the shoulder of the last defender.
What do you people think? 4-3-3?
KTBFFH.
