RANIERI "Chelsea can win the Champions League!"

Claudio Ranieri has added his voice to that of Diego Maradona in tipping Chelsea for Champions League glory this season. As we all know, Ranieri holds a special affection for our club and I hope that there are a few of us who still hold him in the same regard after what he achieved here. It's nice to hear other people outside the club speaking highly of us and Ranieri really goes believe Chelsea will come good in this seasons competition.

He said:

“I’m not surprised Chelsea have struggled this season because football is not science, you can do well and you can do not so well. But I think Chelsea can win the Champions League because it is a strong team with fantastic players.

Maybe Torres is not at the highest level at the moment, and the same with Drogba, but I think they can only get better.”

The thing is we all know we are good enough to win it, we have come so close to doing it and to getting to the final on a consistent basis. Let's face it we have had the beating of Barcelona over two legs on more than one occasion and I believe could beat them again over two legs this season. We do have the players, the ability and now the strength in depth.

I really hope this season we can put together a really strong challenge. I think it's fair to say, no one wants to play us. It's just down to the players to deliver.
