Carlo Ancelotti has spoken of David Luiz after the press and media focus on his performance against Manchester United the other day. We all know Luiz was lucky to have not been sent off and I am sure if you are honest you know he should have been. Carlo has spoken in response the the press questioning the player and his "style" of defending he brings to the Premier League. He said:
We have to remember that Luiz is still a young player who is learning the game. He has come to a new country and will take time to adapt to the Premier League and playing football in England. The question I am asking you reading this comes after I explain my thought process about Luiz and his game.
Natural ability is something you are blessed with along with you instincts as a footballer. Luiz instincts tell him to play the way he does so why should we try and smother his ability and style of play?. There is an argument that if you try and change Luiz, you could be asking the player to stop playing his natural game and and a result we could not see the best of him.
I acknowledge that against United he was lucky but he will learn when to dive into making a tackle, when to stick a leg out and to win the ball without giving away free kicks. So should we be telling Luiz to calm down at the moment or should we be encouraging him to play his own game in the hope that he learns with experience to not be so "rash" at times?
For me, I would encourage his game as after all, he has taken the Premier League by storm.
What do you think?

“He has to know English football, He has to be more calm on the pitch. Obviously he’s showed fantastic ability and quality. He has to improve, but he will because he’ll have more experience and knowledge about English football. He can change his behaviour on the pitch. He’s showing fantastic ability offensively, obviously defensively, he can improve.”
