We all know that Sunday is a massive game against City. We all know that we sit 9 points behind United with a game in hand and we all know it will take some doing to catch both United and Arsenal before the end of the season. However, there are signs that the tide could be turning with news of United and Arsenal's injury problems that could really affect their seasons.
Just this morning United have confirmed John O'Shea is out for five weeks, Rafael is out for three weeks in addition to rumours that Rio Ferdinand could now be out for the season. Sir Alex is facing an injury crisis at Old Trafford particularly in defence and this could seriously hamper their season.
Arsenal have a goalkeeping crisis and have lost Johann Djourou to injury last week which makes them look weak in defence as Arsene Wenger has to try and patch up his defence for the all important run in.
This brings me back to Chelsea. The situation at the Bridge is totally the opposite. At the most important part of the season, we will have a fully fit squad to chose from which is a massive boost to everyone at the club. The difference between Ferguson, Wenger and Ancelotti is that Ancelotti is that Carlo has plenty of strength now in defensive areas and plenty of options.
For me it will be key in the run in between now and the end of the season to have a strong defence and to remain solid. United are patched up, Arsenal are the same but it's Chelsea that can really make a statement of our intentions with a win against City on Sunday.
As other teams begin to struggle, Chelsea look strong and ARE getting stronger and it has to stand us in good stead for the all important run in.
