This is the last post I am prepared to write about Fernando Torres and the Liverpool connection. Now as you all are aware, all we have heard Liverpool fans bleating about for a week now is how Liverpool are this and that and they couldn't believe what he has said blah blah blah!.
I just want to say something here to you the Liverpool fans. I want you to realise the reality that is football and the reality of success.
Fernando Torres has been quoted and it's being reported everywhere:
Because of its history, Liverpool is a bigger club but it's going through a difficult time. Now, do you read posts and articles from us Chelsea fans moaning about what he has said? I haven't seen any of real note anywhere. Do you read statements being made that Torres is "well out of order"..?.
What you lot need to realise is that us Chelsea fans are realistic and probably more so than most. If you ask any REAL Chelsea fan and not just a fan of the last 6-7 years, we will all agree that Liverpool are a bigger club with fantastic history compared to Chelsea. We have no argument whatsoever.
The point I am making, is that being a Chelsea fan means that we don't have our heads stuck well and truly up our arses and live in the past and continue to harp on and on about it.
We deal with the here and now and live in there here and now. Supporters of other clubs see us as arrogant and cocky but listen, if you have to wait 50 years to win the League (which is more than likely will happen to your lot anyway as it's been about 20 already), or for your whole lifetime to do it, and then three come along in the space of six or seven seasons, then of course we are going to live in the moment and make the most of it because we know just how bad it can be and how wrong it can turn.
We all know we were almost bankrupt, we all have had to endure life in the old second division with trips away to the likes of Grimsby and home games before the ground was developed amongst 8,000 other supporters.
Like I have said. We have no argument with what your club has achieved, the tradition of the club and the history of Liverpool football club. All Fernando Torres has said in addition to his original press conference when he stated he couldn't wait for Liverpool to be successful was:
"Chelsea is like Manchester United, the strongest over the last 10 years".He isn't talking out of his arse now is he?. (Also, you will no doubt not be surprised that that other mob in Manchester have picked up on this once again and posted about it here while throwing their dummies out of their prams!). Torres has stated a simple fact in black and white. Since 2001, Liverpool have won 0 Titles, 1 European Cup, 2 FA Cups and 2 League Cups. Chelsea have won 3 Titles, 3 FA Cups and 2 League Cups. OK, so you have won the European Cup and we haven't yet, but how long are you lot realistically going to accept the years passing by and not seeing the Premier League trophy at Anfield?.
Torres looked to move his career forward playing for a side who have had RECENT League success so he came to Chelsea because believe it or not, and even after Sunday, we still have more of a shout that you will have!.
Point made.
