There are rumours rife yesterday that Bolton have opened negotiations with Chelsea to extend the loan of Danny Sturridge beyond the end of this season and for the whole of next season. With the start he has made there and with Owen Coyle as a massive fan of his, it looks as though faced with Johan Elmander's contract expiring in the summer, that Bolton would want to tie Sturridge to the Reebok for another season.
Of course, the final decision would come down to Carlo Ancelotti and the plans he and the club has in the summer on whether or not Sturridge would become an important part of the side or remain as he is now.
My own personal opinion is that now he is playing regular first team football at Bolton and let's be honest, it looks as though it will continue that way until the end of the season, he would come back to Chelsea and will seek assurances of his role at the Bridge. I am not so sure he will have a part to play so maybe keeping him on loan at Bolton for next season also, would benefit Chelsea in the long run rather than selling him.
What do you people think about Sturridge?
