After speculation started since back in the Summer, it's seems that Benfica could be about to sell David Luiz to Chelsea for around £20-£25m in the coming weeks.
As we all know Chelsea had a bid rejected for the Brazilian back in the summer as Benfica refused to do any kind of business with us unless we met the £43m release clause inserted into his contract which is my opinion, was never going to be met by Chelsea or anyone.
Since then and with our well documented injury problems, it seems that Chelsea's interest in the Luiz has continued and Benfica are well aware that Chelsea want their man, more so than ever.
With the transfer window closing in a couple of weeks time and with Benfica making a move to sign Jardel as a possible replacement for David Luiz, could it be a move made to indicate they are willing to finally sell to Chelsea?. I wonder also if Paulo Ferreira will remain part of the deal?.
One things for sure, we will know by Feb 1st if Chelsea have got their man. Now I don't personally know alot about the player so have posted this video below to show you guys what the fuss is all about. What I can say is that he is too footed, plays anywhere across the back four, good in the air and likes a tackle. Perfect for our back four!. Have a watch and let me know what you think!.
