This article in the Star this morning quoted a "source" close to the player himself more or less confirms what we all have been thinking about Chelsea's transfer policy as it stands these days. Carlo doesn't really have a say.
This so called "source" is quoted as saying:
You can see why the board would be interested in Pienaar and that would be to bolster our squad as let's face it, as I said the other day, I couldn't see him as a regular starter at the Bridge. However for just £2.5m, Chelsea would have seen someone with Premier League experience.
I wonder how well that comment would have been taken at Board Room level if it was in fact Roman that instructed them to go ahead and agree a deal with Everton?.
