Breaking News tonight. Chelsea have had a bid of £40m rejected by Liverpool for Fernando Torres. They have insisted the player is not for sale. However there is a strong rumour the player has a £50m release clause in his contract. I wonder if they will go back with another bid and how long Liverpool can really hold out for?.
A Liverpool spokesperson is quoted in the Telegraph here saying:
"Chelsea have made an offer for Fernando, which has been rejected. The player is not for sale."
Before Dalglish, even Liverpool fans would admit, he didn't look interested and maybe just maybe regretted his decision to stay at Anfield. I just wonder how the player feels about this new bid from Chelsea. What will Liverpool do if Chelsea go back with bigger offers and even match this "reported" release clause?.
I just wonder, if the player has a second opportunity to come to Chelsea if he would be interested in speaking to us this time, or will he make the same mistake Steven Gerrard did?.
Stay tuned as Roman looks to splash the cash. Forget your Manchester City's of this world. When Roman splashes his cash once again, the world takes notice!.
Exciting times from Chelsea but I have to stress at the moment, not a dickie bird from Stamford Bridge!.
