John Terry has also had an interview featured in the press today and this article is featured on talkSport's website. Terry also speaks of our form and states that the title race is still wide open. He also reiterates the fact that we are double winners and the best team in the country. He said:
"The top of the league is still really open at the moment. We still have to play Manchester United twice while Manchester City have played a game more than us.JT is dead right, the league race is wide open as I believe that people will drop points right up till the end of the season, the hope we have is that Chelsea do not. We all know we are not playing well and we all have our own opinions as to why not.
There are plenty of opportunities for the teams in and around us to drop points again and we just have to make sure that we are picking up maximum points as often as we can.
That has to be the aim at this club, we are Double winners, the best team in the country. With the amount of trophies we have lifted, the players we have and the quality of football we know we are capable of, it’s up to us to win games now.
It’s about returning to that consistency we are known for. We have to keep going. Winning is the best feeling so we need to go on a run of games now, show our consistency, determination, hunger and fight to win the league again."
It's all well and good the likes of JT and Drogba coming out and saying that we can still push for the title, but like JT says in the interview above, they need to show it starting tomorrow.
As for being the best team in the country, I have to say I personally believe we are up there with the best when we have everyone fit and firing and playing like we can. For now, we are way off and we cannot sit comfortably saying that we are.
What better way to start to calm things down, get some perspective and get our season back on track with a much better performance and a win tomorrow at Wolves.
What do you think? Do you think JT is right?:
Are we the best team in the country?
