Ok, the longest running transfer saga still rumbles on this morning. You can read everything you like on David Luiz that has been reported on here and in the media and at the moment we still haven't had any official confirmation from Chelsea, but we never do until the job is done and the deal is complete. I have to say I believe the deal will be completed this week as today is the day that Luiz is rumoured to be having his work permit hearing after having a medical yesterday.
Now whether it's just a straight cash deal or a player exchange I am confident it will be done and I wouldn't be surprised if Luiz steps straight into the side to face Everton on Saturday.
In my opinion, Ivanovic has to play at right back even though he isn't the best at going forward. Bosingwa has been doing well and has become an influence against Blackburn and Bolton but let's be honest against United twice, City and Liverpool at home we cannot afford to have any weakness in defensive areas of the pitch. Bosingwa isn't the greatest defender in my view so Ivanovic needs to play there, even if he doesn't really want to.
I would imagine Ancelotti would want him there too so that's why I expect Luiz to slot straight in next to Terry on Saturday as looking at the video I posted on here, he looks like he has plenty about him. However, it would be a big ask for someone to come to the club and form a partnership in an instant with Terry. Does Luiz even speak English?. Luiz would have the players around him in the squad to help him settle in with the likes of Hilario, Ferreira, Bosingwa and Ramires so I don't think the language would be much of a problem.
I just wonder if I am right and if Carlo would give him a start in the FA CUP to bed him in and give him a taste of playing in England.
What do you think? If signed in time do you think Saturday is the ideal chance to play Luiz?
