News has broken this afternoon that Chelsea will take up the option of keeping Jose Bosingwa at the club for another season in the summer. I have to say when it comes to Jose Bosingwa I still think that the jury is out. I am not 100% convinced and never really have been. Don't get me wrong, he is fantastic going forward (even though at times it's his final ball or cross that let's him down) however, it's the defensive side of things that have always concerned me about him.
My own opinion of Bosingwa may or may not be the same as the rest of you but you have to say if were a Manager setting up your team to face Chelsea, you would look at Bosingwa as the weak link and look to attack us down that side.
For me, Ivanovic HAS to play there when everyone is fit. Ivanovic is a solid defender first of all and then is willing to get forward. Both are stronger than the other in opposite halves of the pitch, but for me I would always stick the better defender there first over the attacking ability of our right back.
Bosingwa is only 28 and would be signed in my opinion just as cover in that position for the additional option of a year by Chelsea until they can bring in someone else in that position. So from that point of view I can see how keeping Bosingwa for another season is of benefit to the club.
So after reading my thoughts and opinions on Bosingwa, I would love to hear your views. Do you agree with keeping him for an additional year? Do you agree with my opinion?
