Tony Cascarino has been speaking to SkySports News today and has waded in with his opinion on Chelsea and believes we have serious problems. Have a read of his opinion and see if you agree:
"There are serious, serious problems at Chelsea Football Club, Not only are they not looking like retaining their Premier League title, they are looking like a team that has no chance of making the Champions Leagues spots.Do you agree with the ex-chelsea man?
I think there are a lot of things wrong. Personally, I think the players have to take a huge responsibility. I've got to be honest - for me Anelka and Drogba have been awful in the last month. They've totally thrown in the towel and been major components in Chelsea's downfall.
The goal return from them has been poor. Anelka doesn't look like getting a goal - he's dropping far too deep in open play, while the defence has suddenly gone to pieces. The right-back position is a problem.
At the moment Drogba looks like he did under Felipe Scolari - he looks like he is waiting for the manager to get sacked before he starts trying again.
After the last two months how can I honestly say that Chelsea can win the Premier League?, They have to have an amazing run and a complete change of attitude. I think Tottenham look a far better option to finish in fourth place than Chelsea at the moment.
Chelsea now have to reinvent themselves; they have to go back to Abramovich did in recent years - go in to the market and buy top-quality, proven players. Until they do that this is only going to continue in a downward spiral.
When you bring in big and new players, it gets everybody on their toes and people don't get in their comfort zone. Too many players, especially the two centre forwards, are too comfortable.
Ancelotti is a proven winner but he looks a very isolated man to me since he lost Ray Wilkins, his right-hand man; looks a lonely man just waiting for the axe. That's a possibility because that club has been successful and once you've been successful, any period of failure such as we have now, means you could lose your job.
I still think he has earned the right to have a bit more time, to have some money and to change this team; money has to be reinvested in Chelsea to make them a competitive outfit again."
