Nasri taunts Chelsea!

Arsenal Midfielder Samir Nasri has taunted Chelsea over their apparent lack of squad depth after the Sunderland result at the weekend. He said:

“I was very surprised by Chelsea’s defeat. Three-nil at home against Sunderland? No. I’d thought perhaps at the most a draw, or a 1-0 defeat, but 3-0? Not at all. But the absence of John Terry, Alex, Essien as well, that made a big difference. Chelsea have lost Ballack, have lost Deco in the midfield, Ricardo Carvalho also and they haven’t really replaced them. So much the better. Their first-choice XI is good but the group I think has lost a bit in terms of quantity and quality compared to last season.”

Like I have been saying within my Chelsea Daily Drivel, all these sorts of comments or articles have been expected. We all know what the press are like as soon as anything to do with Chelsea happens whether it's on or off the pitch.

The fact of the matter remains that Chelsea haven't had the best of luck with injuries all coming at the same time. Added to that Essien's suspension and Carlo is finding himself in a situation with four of his key players missing that are a core element of our team. Alex, JT, Essien and Lampard are massive losses and would be for anyone.

Expect more of the same until the weekend. Let's hope Carlo can work his magic once again and we play like the Chelsea side we know we can be.
