Carlo Ancelotti confirmed last night after the Spartak Moscow game that Florent Malouda will miss Chelsea's trip to Anfield on Sunday. He said:
"Malouda has a twist on his ankle, not a big problem but he is not able to play against Liverpool, the week after yes!".Right now I am thinking its a blow to lose Malouda for the game as he has been one of our most consistent and influential players so far this season. In addition to that he has been scoring plenty of goals and remains a threat in his own right for Premier League defenders up and down the country.
However, Ancelotti has plenty of options for Sunday that can take his place and after last nights performance it wouldn't surprise me if he sticks with Kalou next to Drogba and Anelka.
Another thing to consider is whether or not Lampard will make the game. If he does come straight back into the side there is always the Zhirkov option playing there.
I may feel differently towards news of Malouda towards Sunday but I have to say wanting your best eleven to play against the big guns, its a blow to lose him for this one.
What do you guys think about Malouda being out of the game and if you were Ancelotti who would you stick in his place?
