Didier Drogba has had a pop out our defence after the Newcastle game as Chelsea have slipped to two points behind United in the Premier League table, level on points with Arsenal, but he needs to wake up himself in addition to problems at the back!.
He said:
"It’s not a good moment and is very frustrating, It’s not nice to see United up front and Arsenal are with us as well but it’s a challenge for us and we have to see it that way, rather than being disappointed. He is right about having to chase games but the simple fact remains, apart from Ben Fosters heroic performance in goal for Birmingham the other week to deny our forward line, we haven't been scoring goals. We look laboured and nowhere near as clinical as we have been.
We have to do everything to come back and we are playing those teams in a few weeks so this is a challenge. Once again we created a lot of chances and we could have scored maybe another goal but the problem is we conceded a goal very early so we had to chase the game. When you have to chase, you create more space and you create more fatigue as well - so it is difficult to take the chances when they come.'
People expect Chelsea to win every game and they may be surprised when we don’t, but that means we are one of the best teams in the league. That is why the expectation is high so it is a responsibility we have to take and we try to do that."
Its alright sorting our our defence but we rely on our forward line to take our chances and make them count and they simply haven't been doing that in recent weeks!.
Drogba, Anelka and Malouda need to start hitting the back of the net again themselves before criticising our back line!.
