Florent Malouda has spoken to UEFA.com ahead of our next Champions League game at Stamford Bridge against Spartak Moscow and it's a chance for Chelsea to seal top spot in the group and make it 4 wins out of 4. Despite being top of our group and sitting top of the Premier League Malouda still wants more from the players.
He said:
"We want to finish first in the group, It's important for the [round of 16] draw, and then we want to keep going because for confidence it's really important to get results. Even though we have won the first three matches we still have a lot of things to improve because we know in the knockout stage it's important to be ready and to work on every detail. You have to say it encouraging to hear that the players know we can play alot better in games. There isn't any argument that our away form hasn't been as good as our home form and just the other day Carlo spoke about the fact we needed to play better away. We didn't exactly deliver at Blackburn but got the job done.
I was really impressed by the quality of Spartak, Technically they were really good, they have powerful strikers, and we had a few problems preserving a clean sheet. They will come here to get a result because it's so important for them, for second place. We have a good home record at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League so it's going to be an interesting game."
The thing is we are top of our group and the Premier League but we all know in certain games we have either taken the foot of the gas and sat on our lead or not really been at it. Once we have Frank Lampard back and the team start firing again on all cylinders like at the start of the season just imagine how good we can really be!.
