Ballack reveals ruthless Chelsea and Carlo's position.

Michael Ballack has spoken this week of lunching with Carlo Ancelotti after the club decided to let him go after his contract expired and of the fact that no one at Chelsea made direct contact with him to inform him of their decision but instead "informed" his agent...

In a week where Carlo Ancelotti seems to have little say in decisions being made at boardroom level, Ballack said:

"I had the feeling that when we spoke about it that he wanted to keep me but it became different. And that was the situation. We had lunch together. That was the time when the club told me that we would not sign a new contract. Yeah, we spoke about this and I had the feeling that he was a little bit surprised but in the end, that's football, and that's what I said.

It had nothing to do with the relationship with me and the coach or the players or the club. I am professional enough to accept the decision. I have to move on and the club has to move on. They just contacted my agent. I have had no direct contact from the club. You can handle this in a different way but it's the way it happened. It's OK".

You have to say it's staggering really isn't it. The article states the fact that Ballack featured in 45 of our 56 games last season and played an important role in Chelsea creating history by winning the double. To not even contact the bloke to tell him of their decision is scandalous really.

It's just more signs of the fact that firstly Ancelotti seems to have little say or clout in any of these decisions and secondly, the new ruthless attitude adopted by Chelsea since Gourlay has come to the club.

I know he had his critics but I liked Ballack and thought when he left that he was underrated and undervalued by the Chelsea fans. We could have done with a fit Ballack for these next two weeks!!
