Lampard & Gerrard for England.

After being asked the question about England's midfield and whether or not England should continue without Lampard, Harry Redknapp lept to his defence yesterday and said:

“I can’t see that. I think he’s a must to play for England. He’s 20 goals a year. He scores goals for England and even in the World Cup. If Frank’s goal against Germany had been given, who knows what could have happened?

I think Frank is top drawer. I’d have him in any England team. And I don’t say that because he’s a relation.

People change their mind from one week to the next. One week, you can be the greatest, next week, you are useless, whether you’re a manager or a player.

I would have Frank and Gerrard in my team every day of the week.”

It was good to hear an English manager with good common sense talking about Lamps for a change when it comes to the national team. As Chelsea fans we all know what he brings to the table, just like the Liverpool fans know exactly what Gerrard does for them.

So why does it seem the public feel that they can't play together?. For me anyway Lampard like to make his runs late in the box from deep, Gerrard's best position is playing off of the frontman so why can't we accomodate the two?
