I know this is off topic really as I am covering a quote by Cesc Fabregas but it does have some relevance to the Chels. Fabregas is quoted as saying the following:
The way we [Spain] play is the most important. It's about how you do it, You will never play the ball longer or do some things you are not used to. We want to win playing football. If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen but we want to be the best this way.
Here in England it is passion and the fans love it when there are hard tackles and you play long balls and counter-attack. If you do that in Spain they will boo you, Here [in England] if you play good football and you don't win then they can boo you for the opposite."
Firstly, read the quote again, he is talking of Spain and not Arsenal which makes me wonder if he believes the same of them?.
I do have to wonder how long you can play good football without winning anything?. We all know just how good Arsenal's football is and when they are on form they are outstanding, but they haven't put any silverware on the table for years now. How long can this go on, really?
This brings me to Chelsea. Chelsea under Jose, won games ugly, got ahead in games and sat on a lead. Not many people liked it but you can't argue it was effective.
Now under Carlo Ancelotti, he has delivered the entertaining football at Chelsea that we all want to see and I believe our football is amongst the best in the league and we do not receive the credit we deserve.
Of course we can win ugly but for the most part under Carlo, good football prevails and he won the Double!.
So I am asking anyone that reads this:
How long can you go on playing good football without winning trophies?
KTBFFH.
