Reported today in the Daily Mail is that Chelsea have sounded out Real Madrid's centre half Pepe about a move to Stamford Bridge......but only when his deal expires in two years time!. In two years the player will be 29 and is reportedly struggling to agree a new deal right now with Madrid.
Chelsea have apparently made their intentions known to the player and would be happy to meet his wage demands rumoured to be £85,000 per week.
What do you think of this deal? I do find it strange for the club to look to sign a deal with the player for him to come only in two years time as let's face it anything can happen between now and then.
Then again, is it a good deal to have someone lined up as a replacement for JT who isn't getting any younger but with someone who will be pushing 30?
What do you think, A good or bad move?
KTBFFH
nonsense. It is impossible to make pre-contracts and is illegal too according to the current sporting laws. A player can talk to other clubs only 6 months prior to the expiration of his contract. Chelsea will get into trouble.
ReplyDeleteI love Pepe, he is an unusually clean defender, good temperament, never sets a foot out of place. I dont even think he has ever gotten a red card. This would be a superb pickup by Carlo!
ReplyDelete^^^^ i was thinking wtf are you on about but then i got the sacarsm lol
ReplyDeleteThis is not a good move, we can have far better Pepe's in two years' time to choose from.

ReplyDeleteI have to say I had never seen that incident and it's shocking!. I believe we will have better options in two years time for younger players rather than sign this one.
