There was a point made by Greame Souness twice in the space of a few days about Chelsea after our wins over Marseille and the Arsenal. I have already made points about Carlo being at the game was overlooked and also that we haven't been given enough credit, but it's still Souness' words that are still ringing in my ears.
He said:
Chelsea are a very dangerous animal. They can play badly and still win the game. They can attack you from different area's on the pitch but they also know how to defend and then hit you on the break.
I have to say the more I think about it I agree. We had a blip at City which we all know but if you forget that game, we have scored plenty of goals and have only conceded two.
The performance on Sunday against the Arsenal showed how well we can defend as a unit when put under pressure and take our chances when it counts in addition to when we are on the front foot, creating plenty of chances.
United, Arsenal, City and Liverpool have struggled to win games and are conceding goals already this season because I don't believe they have a similar strength to Chelsea throughout their side.
With Malouda, Drogba, Anelka and Kalou amongst the goals already and Lampard due to return from injury things can only get better in my view.
KTBFFH!
