So in three hours time Chelsea travel to West Ham. I have already written my match preview the other day on the game and that has slightly changed with the news that JT has made it for the game but Frank Lampard misses the game through injury.
The news of Lampard leaves Ancelotti with a decision to make. For me he has three options. First will he play Benayoun in the Lampard role?. Benayoun is a natural replacement for Lampard in the centre, but still for me doesn't cut it from the start in our side. Secondly will Ramires come in the middle instead for Ancelotti?. Thirdly, and this is the selection I believe that the manager will make, Malouda will come into the middle and Kalou will fit into the role vacated by Malouda on the left hand side.
Speaking of JT and Lampard, Carlo Ancelotti spoke yesterday ahead of the game and said:
'These players needed to have a rest because they had a problem, Terry resolved this problem during these two weeks, Lampard after surgery did very well I think because in seven days he was able to train but obviously we want to give him more time to recover 100 percent. '
Carlo also revealed that Gael Kakuta will also be involved in the game in some capacity too. He said of Kakuta:
'He will be involved tomorrow in the game. Now he is first team, he will have the same opportunity as the other players and he deserves to play because he trained well, he is focused and concentrated, He will play and we now have to consider him not a young player but a player in the first team.'
After speaking about the team ahead of the game, Carlo moved onto todays game and spoke of the challenge of travelling to West Ham. He said:
'I think it will be a tough game because West Ham are not in a good moment, they lost three games, they didn't have a good start for the season and maybe they have a great opportunity to fight against a team at the top.
We have to know it can happen, against Wigan we had a lot of difficulty in the first half and it could be the same tomorrow.
I think that Avram Grant has good experience and knowledge about football, he is able to manage the players. West Ham is a club with history and I think Avram can have a good job there.
I was surprised because they have good players in all positions, the strikers are very good, Cole and Piquionne are fantastic and in midfield they have Parker, and Upson in central defence. When you chance something it can happen at the start [that] you have more problems, but I am sure West Ham will have a good season. I don't think they will be involved in the bottom at the end.'
Avram Grant also has spoken before todays game and has asked the club for time so he can turn the fortunes of the club around. He said:
"In football you always need patience, I am a long-term person and if you see my clubs before - even at Portsmouth and Chelsea, you see developing teams, they develop every match and you will also see the same here. We need not to think about one week or two weeks but longer.
The most important thing about the table is the end of the season, not now. The teams that are in the second or fourth place in the league will not be there and I can guarantee that some teams that are at the bottom of the league will not be there at the end and I'm sure we will be one of them.
I'm enjoying the challenge here, I am enjoying it because it is a big challenge a good club and our vision is good and if we do the things we want to do here over the next few years then West Ham will be a good team."
Grant the moved onto Chelsea and todays game. He spoke of Chelsea and said:
"They are the best team in England now, They play the best football they have played together a long time. We are a new team that needs to develop but I think in football you cannot think in negatives. Think negative and then you'll lose the game. They are a very good team and I think in football anything can happen. We need to think this."
So there we have it. The previews and the build up complete. Breaking news Wayne Rooney has not been included in the United side that face Everton shortly and this could have a major effect on the outcome on that game. With a chance of points dropped for United, its important that Chelsea look to kick on from where we left off from our previous three games.
So let's hope we can play well and get the result no matter what it is whether it is 1-0, 2-0 or 6-0. Its about the three points.
COME ON CHELSEA!
