All we all keep reading and hearing about at the moment is the Neymar situation. The "will he, won't he?" saga seems to have rumbled on to a point where we seem to be at a standstill. Santos just this morning are reported to have said to Chelsea that it will take £29m to buy the player. He has people left, right and centre telling him not to come to Chelsea and to stay where he is, so I was just wondering:
Will Carlo stick with what he has at the moment or look to bring someone else in?
I have to say that with the addition of Ramires last week I can't see any need at the moment to bring anyone to the club.

Realistically, what do you guys think? Should Chelsea pay £29m?

  1. Well, chelsea do need (a) young striker(s) to replace to veterans sooner or later

  2. Yes we should pay it. Look at the equivalent players that we get linked with of a similar nature:
Aguero - Initially said to cost upwards of £55m with huge wage expectations. Now maybe closer to £40m but the wages are still rumoured at over £120k+ per week
Pato - Always been priced at £40m by all of the links I've ever seen. Wages would be cheaper than Aguero but still a high amount.
Kaka - Deeper sitting than Neymar, but I really don't have to explain the cost and wages on this one!

So now you have Neymar. Potential for a huge worth in the future. Latest rumours are suggesting a starting price of £55k p/w, and we all know just how good Carlo has proven to be with young Brazilians. Should we stump up £30m for an 18 y/o would could be one of the world's best in 3 years? Hell yeah! And to boost the value he'll be home grown at 21 if we can register him before Aug 31st!!

  3. We are almost settled for another 2-3 seasons provided

    we sign Neymar and Lukaku
    A Good Substitute Keeper
    and probbaly
a Young Defender who can play RB & CD.

Drogba can carry on at this level for atleast another 2 seasons.

Probably Anelka will be demoted to bench after this season, If Neymar becomes a regular.

Lampard can carry on for atleast another 3 seasons also JT.

Cech can carry on for atleast another 6-8 seasons provided he doesn't get injured.

So it all seems settled. All other signings we do in the future seasons will be on ad-hoc basis!

    Viva Chelsea!

  4. I say GO FOR IT !!
I agree with Ash that Neymar will most probably push Anelka to the bench if he ever comes.

but on the other hand, an 18 year old with 55k pounds a week? I still regard that as shattering our wage structure.

    Decisions, decisions...

  5. Well I think Neymar needs time to develop and its a good decision on his part to remain in brazil...let him develop...lets see what he becomes in a few years time and then go for him...

But, we do need a fast striker and a young one...Drogba is the best...but he's getting old and injuries...you never know...its good to have backup
