The Chelsea Daily Drivel is a daily update of all the stories concerning our club, the rumours, the opinions and more....
So here are the Chelsea news updates on Friday 27th August 2010 including: Chelsea deny move for Sergio Ramos, Reported target Martin Demichelis left out of Bayern squad for their game this evening!, Carlo Ancelotti on the Champions League Draw and the Drivel Giggle heads (literally) over to Germany!!.
First today to Sergio Ramos. It was being reported in the media earlier in the week that Chelsea had been preparing a huge bid for the Madrid defender. However GOAL.COM is running an article today that Chelsea Sporting Director Frank Arnesen as assured his counterparts at Madrid that Chelsea have made no move for Ramos.
Arnesen is reported as saying:
I think we just need to put this one to bed now. It's obvious to me anyway that since Ramos has won the World Cup with Spain, his agent sees a chance to get more money for his man and himself and is trying to obtain interest in the player to make Madrid up the guys wages!.
Now to Bayern Munich defender, and another we have been linked with this week, Martin Demichelis. Earlier in the week stories emerged stating that Chelsea were interesting in signing him which I found hard to believe. GOAL.COM once again run the article to state that he has been left out of the squad for their game tonight which will heighten specualtion about the players future.
Coach Luis Van Gaal said:
Now to yesterdays Champions League draw held in Monaco. Chelsea avoided a nightmare scenario against Real Madrid and were drawn in a group where, on paper, we should sail through to the next round.
Carlo has spoken today about the draw and his feelings on how it turned out. He said:
Finally todays Drivel Giggle and we head over to Germany for an internet sensation over the past couple of days. Ex-Chelsea defender Khalid Boulahrouz had taken to the field knocking the ball about before a match between between Mainz and Stuttgart and Boulahrouz let fly with a stray shot that caught German Sky Sport presenter Jessica Kastrop right on the head!. Check out the clip below, he hit her spot on, Brilliant!

Arnesen is reported as saying:
"It is absolutely false, We haven’t made any bid for Ramos. What did surprise us is that a person called us on behalf of the player to see if we were interested in signing him."
I think we just need to put this one to bed now. It's obvious to me anyway that since Ramos has won the World Cup with Spain, his agent sees a chance to get more money for his man and himself and is trying to obtain interest in the player to make Madrid up the guys wages!.

Coach Luis Van Gaal said:
"He won't play against Kaiserslautern for the same reason why he didn't play against Wolfsburg last week. We've discussed the situation with Demichelis and have together made the decision to leave him out of the squad, He has been an undisputed starter at Bayern for six years. It's hard for him that he has lost his starting berth all of a sudden and we can't expect him to be fully focussed on doing his job right now.Its obvious Van Gaal is preparing for life without the player but I will say now on record he won't be coming to Chelsea in my opinion. It is believed that the player himself prefers a move to Sevilla in La Liga.
However, there's a good possibility that he'll return to the team if he doesn't leave the club before the transfer window closes. He just needs some time to deal with his new situation."
Now to yesterdays Champions League draw held in Monaco. Chelsea avoided a nightmare scenario against Real Madrid and were drawn in a group where, on paper, we should sail through to the next round.
Carlo has spoken today about the draw and his feelings on how it turned out. He said:
"We want to start the Champions League well, it is not so important who is the opposition, Every team could create difficulties for us but I think it was a good draw. We don't know so much, maybe we could have a problem with Zilina for the first game but the other games we can control everything about the opponent and Marseille we know very well."
