The Chelsea Daily Drivel is a daily update of all the stories concerning our club, the rumours, the opinions and more....
So here are the Chelsea news updates on Thursday 26th August 2010 including: Are Chelsea still interested in Neymar and Europe's top clubs await the Champions League draw as Jose Mourinho states his Real side are not ready to face Chelsea!,
First to Neymar and this morning the Daily Telegraph are running an article to state that even though Brazilian starlet Neymar signed a new five year deal with Santos last week, Chelsea remain interested and agent Pini Zahavi who had been in the USA with Chelsea Chairman Bruce Buck, is still trying to complete a deal. The key to this at the moment seems to be whether it will be before the deadline closes at the end of the month or in January.
Really am not sure about this one as why would the player sign a new five year deal and then entertain any form of contact from Zahavi?. The only reason would be if Chelsea agree to meet the higher improved release clause fee that has been inserted into the new deal he signed. Reported by the Telegraph, Chelsea will have to cough up £37m which is mind blowing for someone so young. I have said it before and I will say it again, I just can't see it.
Now to the outspoken Jose Mourinho. If you are a fan of my blog you will know his comments have caused uproar this week amongst Arsenal and Liverpool fans and also some England fans.
However I report today in advance of this afternoon's Champions League draw in Monaco that Jose has spoken with honesty about his team as they stand at the moment and I think that some of you would be surprised as he states they are not ready to face Chelsea. Real Madrid are in the second pot of sides to be drawn after the seeded sides are drawn first and it is possible that we could face Real Madrid in the group stages. Jose said:

"It's possible that we will have to play against Chelsea or Manchester United in the first match and I have not had three consecutive days on the training ground with all my players.(Source: The Independant)
We need to be lucky and not have anything happen to our two strikers, Karim Benzema or Gonzalo Higuain. In an emergency I can play Cristiano Ronaldo through the middle but you lose so much from his game when he plays there. He is not a centre-forward.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Inter are already-made teams, Clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea and Inter are well established and just needed to bring in one or two players this summer. Barça are also the finished product. They play with their eyes closed. They have been together so long that they come back from their holidays and after three days of training they are ready. That is not the case for Madrid.
A team needs to adapt to a new coach, to six new players and to another way of working. What you will see against Mallorca on Sunday will not be the finished article.
