The Chelsea Daily Drivel is a daily update of all the stories concerning our club, the rumours, the opinions and more....
So here are the Chelsea news updates on Tuesday 17th August 2010 including: Ancelotti on Ramires, Rumours still persist about Burdisso, Neymar to discuss his future with his family? Chelsea to help Cole clean up his act and Ancelotti on Drogba.
First today to Carlo Ancelotti. He has spoken about Ramires and that he believes it will not take him long to settle into our English game. He said:
Now to Nicolas Burdisso and the fact that the rumours that Chelsea are interested in bringing him to the Bridge as Carvalho's replacement still persist. Just yesterday in the Chelsea Daily Drivel I had reported that Ancelotti had seemed to put his trust into Jeffrey Bruma. Today in the DAILYMAIL, rumours are that Chelsea still might bring Burdisso in.
Its reporting that Chelsea have expressed an interest in David Luiz but have been put off by the fee Benfica are demanding so have turned to Burdisso instead. Inter Milan's technical director Marco Branca has added fuel to the fire by stating that there is interest in the player from England. Burdisso can play anywhere across the back four. More to follow on this one before the transfer window closes.
Now more this morning on the ongoing Neymar speculation. Once more in yesterdays Chelsea Daily Drivel I had reported that the player didn't know of anything about a move and wanted to stay at Santos. However now there are rumours that the player is keen to join Chelsea and will discuss his future with his father and will put forward the outcome of their discussions to Santos.
The players agent Wagner Ribiero said:
More to follow before the transfer deadline on this - will he, won't he, join Chelsea saga that's been running all summer!
Now to Ashley Cole. I'm not going to go into the things that have been going on in his private life and mistakes we all know he has made as there are enough pages that seem to dominate the national press that you know what to do with. Chelsea have decided to "Help" Ashley it seems as reported by the DAILYMAIL to clean up his act.
Once again Bruce Buck is the central figure as he has been dealing with the Neymar rumour, making his comments about Joe Cole the other day (mentioned in my Drivel Giggle yesterday) and now about Cole. He said:
Finally today and to Carlo Ancelotti once more. This time he has spoken of Didier Drogba. After his hat-trick at the weekend Carlo is excited by Didier's scoring form and said:
More to follow on the Daily Drivel tomorrow!

First today to Carlo Ancelotti. He has spoken about Ramires and that he believes it will not take him long to settle into our English game. He said:
“Ramires is a fantastic player, He will be the future of the Brazil national team and I hope he will be the future of Chelsea. He won't have any problems adapting to the English game because he is not Brazilian 100%. Because usually a Brazilian doesn't like to run, he likes to play football. He is a runner."(Source:FansFC)

The players agent Wagner Ribiero said:
"Neymar is meeting with his family, and they will decide what they want. Then we will have a conversation with Santos. Everything will be decided this week."In response to the "Tapping up" claim made earlier by Santos, Bruce Buck has responded to the claim and said:
"There was no tapping up from Chelsea and I want to be clear on that, We are looking at several young Brazilian players and he is one of the players we have been looking at. Whether he becomes a Chelsea player at some point, who knows?
We are still looking at some things, whether they happen or not I don't know. Carlo is happy and confident with the squad we have. If there is another player or two - great, if not we're fine with what we have."

Once again Bruce Buck is the central figure as he has been dealing with the Neymar rumour, making his comments about Joe Cole the other day (mentioned in my Drivel Giggle yesterday) and now about Cole. He said:
"I think Ashley is fine. He is great around the club, is polite and helpful. We're not involved in his private life but we support him to a certain extent if we can. There is no question he is the best left back in the world. He just needs to concentrate on his football for a while and let everything settle down.
You would be unhappy too if you got the treatment he is getting by the media. He doesn't like that but I don't think it will be any different if he was in Spain or Italy.
He has just got to work a little bit, with our help, on improving his image. He is a great player and everyone loves to watch him play and we just look forward like that. We do [rally around him] at executive level, as do the other players and management. We will do the best we can.'
Finally today and to Carlo Ancelotti once more. This time he has spoken of Didier Drogba. After his hat-trick at the weekend Carlo is excited by Didier's scoring form and said:
"I have been happy to work with a lot of strikers, but it is difficult to find one with the continuity of Drogba," Ancelotti told chelseafc.com.
Drogba is fit, he does not have problems physically, he is professional, so he can play for a lot of years but the most important thing is the mentality, to be happy to train, to be happy to play - Didier is that kind of man."
