So here is the latest from around the web on Monday 2nd August 2010 including: Carlo speaks out once more on Cole, Carlo plays down any moves for Kaka, After the nightmare with our reserve keepers Carlo speaks out about them and stands by them and another Chelsea youngster Danny Philliskirk goes out on Loan.
First to the story reported the other day on here that Ashley Cole had told Chelsea to let him leave. Carlo Ancelotti speaking out after our pre season loss to Eintracht Frankfurt yesterday has played down these reports. He said:
"I'm not interested in the relationship my player has with other coaches, It's normal that Mourinho has a good relationship with Ashley Cole but nothing has changed in our position. He is a Chelsea player and will remain a Chelsea player. There's no way he will leave. Everyone can forget that Ashley Cole will leave this club. There is no price. We believe that he's the best left-back in the world and because of this, he will stay at this club."I think from that we can all breathe a huge sigh of relief as there is no denying on the pitch he is the best. As we all know, he just needs to sort out the off-pitch antics this season and concentrate on his football.
Now to Carlo Ancelotti once again and this time he has responded to reports that Kaka will be sold by Real Madrid again, reported on here at the weekend. He said:
"Kaka cannot come to Chelsea, He was one player of mine and has done so much for Milan, but now he belongs to Real Madrid and he will decide about his future along with his current club.Certainly neither I nor Chelsea will do it."To me anyway, this doesn't seem as thought he has closed the door to a possible move. From what Carlo is saying, while he remains a Real Madrid player only they and Kaka can decide his future and not Chelsea. Now, it remains to be seen whether or not Jose does want to keep him. If he doesn't and he is made available for transfer then I fully expect Ancelotti to make a move.
Now to the situation with our backup Goalkeepers. I have stated this morning that we need to address the situation sooner rather than later after worrying performances from Turnbull and Hilario in our last two preseason games.
However, Carlo has this time spoken out about our Goalkeepers and has said:
"We had some problems with goalkeepers but it can happen at this moment of the season, We have to maintain trust in these goalkeepers. For other players, it was the first game and they had problems. They are not fit."I have to say I am not so sure.. Its always a worry when Cech is not there and I am sure the back four (whoever is playing) do not feel so assured when playing either!.
Finally to more news of another youngster who has been sent out on loan by the club to gain vital first team experience. Danny Philliskirk has signed for Oxford on an initial one month deal. Oxford manager Chris Wilder has spoken of the deal. He said:
"We have good connections with Chelsea and they were happy for him to come out and gain experience. Chelsea play in the three up front so he is used to playing in that. He is a young boy but I think maybe people underestimate the level we are playing at now. We felt we needed an extra body in and he will benefit from the time here. If he does well then he has a great opportunity here."Good luck to Danny!.
