The Chelsea Daily Drivel is a daily update of all the stories concerning our club, the rumours, the opinions and more....
So here are the Chelsea news updates on Tuesday 10th August 2010 including: Scott Sinclair joins Swansea, Matic also on his way, Mancienne's future to be discussed, Peter Kenyon cuts all ties with Chelsea and Didier Drogba reveals he has been in pain for six years!.
First to news last night confirmed on chelseafc.com involving a confirmed transfer of Scott Sinclair to Swansea. The statement on the club website said:
News now of another youngster who could be on their way and this time on Loan, and that's Nemanja Matic. Goal.com is reporting that he could be about to move on a season long loan to Italy to join Serie A side Bologna. The website is reporting that a deal is close to being agreed between the two sides.
Now to another youngster who could be on his way and this time it's Michael Mancienne. TribalFootball is reporting that Chelsea are yet to decide the players future. Carlo Ancelotti is quoted as saying:
Now to off the field matters and to Ex-Chief Exec Peter Kenyon. Chelseafc.com has confirmed that Kenyon has resigned from his position as non-executive director to focus on his full time role with his new employers. Chairman Bruce Buck is quoted on the Chelsea website and said:
It's a shame in a way that what happened, happened when Roman called time on Scolari's tenure as Manager while Kenyon was on holiday. I guess Kenyon realised then that the club is Roman's and he wanted to do things his way. Soon after Kenyon resigned from full time employment at the club.
Now finally back to matters on the pitch and I have to say I was stunned to hear that Didier Drogba revealed that he has been playing in pain for the last 6 years!. He said:
So what do you guys think about these stories? Are you concerned about our youngsters not being given a chance or not? Post your comments asap!

Chelsea Football Club can confirm it has agreed terms for the transfer of Scott Sinclair to Swansea City. We thank Scott for his service over the past five years and wish him well in his future career. The 21-year-old arrived at Chelsea from Bristol Rovers in July 2005, having already made his debut for the Pirates when he was just 15.I have to say I am disappointed with this one. I'm not sure about the rest of you but I really felt that out of everyone Sinclair had the talent to break through but it was never to be. I really hope he takes this chance and really makes a name for himself. Good luck to Sinclair for the future!.
He top-scored for the youth team in his first campaign with us, repeating the feat with the reserves a season later and he made a first team debut early in January 2007 before going on loan at Plymouth where he scored a memorable solo FA Cup goal. Drafted into the first team squad before Jose Mourinho's departure, Scott played regularly in domestic cup competitions under Avram Grant before loan moves to QPR, Charlton and Crystal Palace.
In his final 18 months at the club, Scott also spent time with Birmingham City in the Championship and Wigan Athletic in the Premier League, where he made 18 league appearances last season. In total for Chelsea, the Bath-born winger played 14 times, scoring once, a Carling Cup third round goal away at Hull City in September 2007. We hope to complete the transfer on Tuesday.
"Michael is training with us now and we have to consider him a Chelsea player. But we will take a decision this week about his situation. He could stay or maybe go on loan."The article also states that Chelsea have put a £6m price tag on his head which as a result has put on potential permanent buyers with the loan option being the more prominent deal being discussed.
"Peter presided over the club during a time of great success and unprecedented commercial growth, and subsequently, as non-executive director he was effective in representing Chelsea FC in our dialogue with world football bodies. I'd like to thank Peter for everything he's done for this football club and everyone here wishes him well for the future. He'll always be welcome back at Chelsea.'You have to take your hat off to him really. He came down to London from United and we all thought it was because of the pay packet, but he delivered Mourinho to Abramovich and played a major part in the club's success off the pitch.
He said:
"The problem was a hernia. I first had it six years ago and, for the last six years, I have been struggling with it. I couldn't really work, it was difficult sometimes for me to play some games. I also had to miss some training sessions. Now I am really happy because it has gone and I feel more free. It really was a strange feeling [against United] because sometimes last year I needed some tablets to play. Now I am not even asking. It is a good feeling. There are no more tensions [in the groin]. You know it is really good for me – I am really happy that I had the operation."6 Years!!! Why on earth did he not have the operation sooner?. You have to admit at times we had no indication of any problems at all. At least it's sorted out now and let's hope that he can recover 100% and not have any recurrence of the injury!. Mind you if he did he wouldn't tell us for a few years anyway!.
So what do you guys think about these stories? Are you concerned about our youngsters not being given a chance or not? Post your comments asap!

oh yeah and u forgot to mention...ricardo carvalho has officaly left chelsea following a medical at both clubs...go to chelseafc.com to check it out...best to the guy...im happy he left though cuz hes like 32 and we got 8m for him
ReplyDeleteRiccy, thank you so much, you will be dearly missed, i would like to wish you good luck and may your old boss bring you success! Porto, Chelsea and Real…Jose and Riccy really seems to have a certain fate! 8 million euros is quite decent!
ReplyDeleteSince i don't know much about Sinclair, i am happy with the decision because the insiders must have felt his absence is okay.
I would like to see Matic go on loan for a season, i quite liken him to Ballack, play and stature. I may be wrong, though.
Michael Mancienne had talked about lack of playing time with us and i think he will be leaving soon. He is good but i wouldn't mind because we have good numbers at the back. Jose will be back and Ashley isn't leaving!
Peter Kenyon will be remembered with gratitude!
And let's hope that Drogba will prove himself "best is yet to come"
Joey, Ballack, Belletti, Stoch, Deco, Sinclair and Riccy left but only Benny and Ramires(?) arrived...i am gravely worried!
