The Chelsea Daily Drivel is a daily update of all the stories concerning our club, the rumours, the opinions and more....
So here is the latest from around the web on Wednesday 4th August 2010 including: Ramires set for medical today?, Ancelotti confirms another player to join before the transfer window shuts, Ancelotti also talks up City this season, Scott Sinclair off on loan again and focus now turns to Hamburg as we prepare for todays game with one eye on Wembley.
First to Brazilian Ramires. After I had written yesterdays Daily Drivel news broke that Ancelotti had confirmed he was interested in signing Ramires.
Today it seems that the player is on the verge of signing for Chelsea after it had been reported that a deal had been agreed with Benfica and the 3rd party who has part ownership of the player. A fee of around £18m had been agreed and Ramires is scheduled to have a medical at Chelsea today. More to come on Ramires once the deal is done and dusted.
Carlo Ancelotti had confirmed that there will be one more player brought into the club before the transfer window closes. Carlo said:
More on Carlo this morning and this time its his view on big-spenders Manchester City. As we all know they have splashed the cash this summer and I have asked the question before on whether or not they are a real threat to Chelsea this season. Carlo has had his say. He said:
Now to Chelsea youngster Scott Sinclair. As all we know Sinclair has found it difficult at Chelsea and it looks again like he has failed once more to cement his place in the first team squad under Ancelotti. Reports flying around today state that he could be on the verge of joining Ian Holloway at newly promoted Blackpool.
Finally to todays friendly against Hamburg this afternoon. First Chelsea have received a massive boost ahead of the game with news that Didier Drogba has returned to full training after his operation on the hernia that plagued him through last season.
So with that news Carlo Ancelotti has stated that he will use todays game in Hamburg to field the same team that will play against Manchester United on Sunday. He said:
KTBFFH Everyone!

"We are not in any hurry, We have the whole of August to complete deals. The strategy of the club is clear. Compared to last season, we have lost Belletti, Ballack and Joe Cole, so we will add three players in these positions. So far, we've brought in Benayoun from Liverpool."At the moment you have to say its anyone's guess who will come in?. We know its not Fernando Torres so who could it be. At the moment we are weak in midfield without any real depth so this guy could be a target. Let's hope so anyway after his performances in the World Cup.

Manchester City has a possibility to fight for the title. They needed to bring in top players, we have top players, we are not jealous!.Enough said from Carlo on that one!

It is my thought that the player that will play will start the game against Manchester United to give them more minutes. It's an important game as its the last game of pre-season. We want to check our position physically and tactically before the start of the season. All eyes will be on the side he selects for the game today. News of that will follow later here on www.chelseadaft.org.
