World Cup Winner Fabio Cannavaro has spoken out about England, Fabio Capello's staying on as Manager and John Terry after playing under Capello in the past and from what he says, expect John Terry to not feature for England again under Capello!. He said:
"My thoughts are that John Terry won't be on the team sheet. You don't cross Fabio and he won't want anybody disrupting his tournament again.
It was absolutely the correct decision for the English FA to keep Fabio on. He can make this England team his own now - and I would actually make them the favourites for Euro 2012.
I don't want to speak for Fabio but I'd be surprised if more than five of the players who started against Germany start the opening game of Euro 2012. For me, the only two players that can be guaranteed to start in 2012 are Ashley Cole and Wayne Rooney. By then Fabio will have had enough time to build his own team and I think it will be unrecognisable compared to what it was at the World Cup.
Spain will be there but if Fabio gets rid of egos, I think England will see exactly why it was a good decision to keep him on."
I have spoken of my view at the time JT spoke out and afterwards and I stand by it.
What do you fellow Chelsea / England fans think? Should be axed or stay?

As a Chelsea fan, anything that can keep Terry (and Lampard and even Ashley) fresher and prolong their careers is a good thing. As an England fan, the team needs its best players, but I'm less concerned with that obviously!
ReplyDeleteWayne Rooney? Obviously he didn't watch any of the England matches. Wayne Rooney by the quarter-finals was the top player for having given away the ball and having the ball taken from him.

~~ BTW and this Fabio Cannavaro guy....why bother talking abt JT, Capello and England....how about looking at ownself in the mirror!! Where were you and Italy @ the group stage in the worldcup??....ohh plzzzzzzzz!!
ReplyDeleteTerry was awful and was out of position for two of Germany's goals. He should be dropped for that alone. And he should also be dropped for undermining the entire team effort. Divided camps never do well at the world cup. If he was such a great leader he would have buttoned it and pulled in the same direction as everyone else. Instead, rather than being a leader, he was a spoilt brat who expected to have everything on his own terms. Thats John Terry for you. He won't change, and I doubt he will be picked for England again. If you watch the Germany game again you will see exactly why. Should be a laugh watching him without Carvalho to bail him out.
