The Chelsea Daily Drivel is a daily update of all the stories concerning our club, the rumours, the opinions and more....
So here is the latest from around the web on Wednesday 28th July 2010 including: Jack Cork to be loaned out to Swansea?, Chelsea told to up their bid for Benfica's Luiz, Khedira off to Madrid and Ray Wilkins speaks about Pre Season so far.
Hello everyone! welcome to todays Daily Drivel. First we have news of another Chelsea youngster who has found himself sent out on loan more often than not and that's Jack Cork. Cork who spent some time last season at Burnley during their season in the Premiership is being linked with another loan spell and this time to Championship side Swansea.
Swansea have recently appointed ex Chelsea youth team boss Brendan Rogers who Cork worked with during his time at Chelsea. A season long loan looks to be on the cards so expect this deal to be done before the season starts.. It's a shame really that Cork along with possibly Mancienne and Di Santo find themselves struggling to get into the First Team squad at Chelsea.
Now to more on Chelsea's "reported" interest in Benfica defender David Luiz. It had been reported on here and in the media the other day that Chelsea had offered mega money to Benfica for their centre back. This has alerted Manchester City and it seems that they have now entered the race for the player. As a result Benfica have now told both sides that they are looking for £33m for him which in my view is ridiculous. Ok the guy is highly rated but £33m is a joke. I am sure there are other options or even 2 or 3 other options for the same amount of money..
Now to a player who won't be coming to Chelsea and thats Sami Khedira. Its seems a move to Real Madrid will be completed in the coming days.
Finally today to Ray Wilkins. He has spoken to chelseafc.com about Pre Season so far. He said:

"Things are going great, the lads have come back in reasonably good condition and that's the modern day professional, they work extremely hard to keep themselves in good shape, It's far easier to retain fitness than it is to regain it, so the lads have taken that on board and they look very good indeed.More to follow on tomorrow's Daily Drivel. Remember to check out my previous post's listed below and get involved in some heated conversations! Give your views as I would love to hear them!.
It is good to have the whole group back together, it has been rather patchy over the first couple of weeks but the first boys that came in worked so hard and the younger boys did well, and now it's good to have the senior boys back.
Them having the World Cup makes it a tad harder on the physical aspect, we can't do some of the work with the lads that are just back because it is too physical for them, but our aim is to get everybody ready for that first league game of the season. If we can do that then we'll have achieved our goal."
KTBFFH!.
Keep up the good work with the daily drivel, it's almost addictive
