So here is the latest from around the web on Thursday 22nd July 2010 including: Chelsea bid for Ramires? Franco Di Santo has other admirers and Bristol City have an eye on Ryan Bertrand.

First to news that has appeared everywhere about a reported bid of £20m by Chelsea to Benfica for starlet Ramires. With news of a bid made for Neymar yesterday could it be that the Bridge will be a wash with the Samba next season?. Its reported that a bid has been officially lodged with Benfica and we will see what happens. Ramires who recently said it would be a dream to play for Chelsea is one of the players that impressed for Brazil in the tournament and top European sides have been interested ever since. More to follow in the coming days..

Now to news that Franco Di Santo has the interest of Feyenoord Technical Director Leo Beenhakker. He said:

"The team is looking pretty good at the moment. We only need one more striker and we're done on the transfer market. Di Santo is indeed one of the players we're interested in, but there's a lot of competition in the race for his signature."

More on Franco's future to follow with a number of clubs looking to take him on loan.

Finally news to another youngster who has caught the eye and that's Ryan Bertrand. Bertrand has spent the last couple of seasons on loan at Norwich where he has made 55 starts in two spells at the club and last season he was an ever present at Reading in the Championship. Its believed that Steve Coppell wants him and informal talks have been held between Chelsea and Bristol City.

Looks like this is another one who won't get a chance at Chelsea with the likes of Ashley Cole, Yuri Zirkov and Paulo Ferriera ahead of him in the pecking order. Expect this move to be done and dusted before the start of the season.

Now to todays Drivel Giggle.

First in the Giggle is Joe Cole. I said that I would never write on here about Joe again but after his ridiculous statement made the other day that said:

"When I knew Liverpool were interested it was a no-brainer because they are the biggest club in the country."

I mean I had to laugh, its obvious that Cole has stepped into the Liverpool time machine that is well and truly stuck in the past already!. I think we will all take an interest in watching the "Biggest club in the country" play EUROPA League this season and struggle once more to make 4th!"...

Also today Harry Redknapp. "Is he having a laugh?" he has cracked me up! After a day or so of no giggle I was creasing up after he said:

“I feel we could contend for the title, we have got the players here. We have to aim for it. We could win the championship.

If I was you, I would concentrate on finishing in the top 4 again mate as you will have a job on your hands this season!
