The Chelsea Daily Drivel is a daily update of all the stories concerning our club, the rumours, the opinions and more....
So here is the latest from around the web on Monday 12th July 2010 including: Fernando Torres, Fabio Coentrao, Bastien Schweinsteiger and Kaka.
Firstly to the World Cup final. Spain beat the Dutch 1-0 after extra time. Fernando Torres was a late substitute for Spain but pulled up with minutes remaining with a hamstring problem. The press are now doubting that a move for Torres by Chelsea will happen. The Daily Mail have reported that the deal could possibly collapse.
Just before the final David Villa had been quoted again in the Daily Mail as saying that Fernando Torres would never follow the money and sign for Manchester City. Villa said:
Now to news The Sun is reporting regarding Portuguese left back Fabio Coentrao. Its reported that Chelsea have an eye on the 22 year old left back after he has impressed during the World Cup, especially in the attacking third as he plays in a similar role to Ashley Cole. Chelsea have him in mind in case Ashley Cole decides to pack up and leave England and join up with Jose at Real Madrid.

'I am not sure where his future lies – but he knows like me he must win trophies at club level. He isn’t money-focused so he would never join Manchester City.
But sure, Barcelona and Chelsea would be real options for him. He has proven he can score goals in England and Chelsea are the number one team there at the moment, so I suppose it’s the option that makes the most sense.
He has been fully focused on the World Cup but in the back of his mind he knows he needs to be competing for the very highest honours and if Liverpool can’t do it he will have to move.'

"There are always a few offers, but I have a contract with Bayern until 2012 and I respect the contract and the club, I know that there is something great at Bayern. We didn't reach the UEFA Champions League final without good reason - and to win it is my ambition. To end this talk I will just say that I am not married to Bayern.
The Bundesliga is great, and has become more important, but if I were to move on then, of course, the idea of going abroad is what excites me."
Now finally a brief note from Carlo Ancelotti who has confirmed his interest in Kaka. He said:
"Kaka would do well for my cause, It would be a multi-million pound operation."Obviously would love to see Kaka at the Bridge alongside Lampard, but have to say this one would cost a fortune as the player is only one year into his contract at Real Madrid.
