The Chelsea Daily Drivel is a daily update of all the stories concerning our club, the rumours, the opinions and more....
So here is the latest from around the web on Thursday 17th June 2010 including: Bobby Di Matteo first up for Chelsea, More on Andrew Driver, Florent Malouda and more on David Silva.
First to the new Premier League season that will start in August. The fixtures have been released today and Chelsea will start at home against Bobby Di Matteo's West Brom side. It's a great game for Chelsea to have Bobby back at the Bridge. Also it will be a chance for him to see where his side stands in relation to the Champions.
Chelsea then travel to Wigan followed by another home game against Stoke. One fixture to note is the boxing day clash away at Arsenal. The full fixture list can be found here..
Now to more on Andrew Driver. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is locked in talks with Hearts counterpart Vladimir Romanov to seal a loan deal for exciting winger Andrew Driver, according to The Scotsman. Driver, 22, has emerged in the SPL as a promising talent and has been capped by the England under-21 side. Both FC Twente and Burnley were understood to be after his signature, but the Blues plan to blow them out of the water by arranging a temporary move, with a £5 million clause to make the deal permanent.
Abramovich is close friends with Lithuanian tycoon Romanov and this relationship could advantage the Premier league champions. (SOURCE GOAL.COM)
Now to Florent Malouda. After starting from the bench for the first game France drew against Uruguay it now looks like Florent Malouda will get the start in the side for tonight's cruicial game against Mexico. Malouda spoke of the Raymond Domenech's decision yesterday and said:
Finally the David Silva rumours have gained momentum as its seems the player has had a change of heart about playing in the Premier League. The change of heart as come about as its reported that Jose Mourinho is not interested in taking him to the Bernabau so Silva is looking at the option of England.
Its seems as though its now a straight fight between Chelsea and Manchester City for the player who favours a move to Chelsea as at the moment he doesn't see Manchester City as a major european club. Yes City can pay more money as a transfer fee and also player wages but again with Champions League football a reality year-in, year out at Chelsea it could be London and the Chelsea blue he will be wearing next season.
Don't forget to check out the breaking story today that Chelsea are interested in the young star of German football.

"I always accepted and would always accept whatever the coach decides. He's the boss."It seems that Malouda's comments had been noted. In a game France have to win, will see Malouda replace the out of form Gourcuff in the French midfield on the left, with Ribery playing in the middle. After his fantastic season at Chelsea (and one of the reason's that Joe Cole is leaving) its important that tonight he takes his chance and shows everyone what he can do.
