The Chelsea Daily Drivel is a daily update of all the stories concerning our club, the rumours, the opinions and more....
So here is the latest from around the web on Saturday 5th June 2010 including, Fernando Torres, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba.
Firstly the Daily Mail is reporting that Chelsea are looking to exploit the current turmoil at Anfield and make a bid for Fernando Torres. I had asked the question on here the other day and caused an intense debate and its obvious that the Liverpool fans do not want to see him go.
The Mail comments that Roman Abramovich is prepared to go toe-to-toe with Sheikh Mansour at Man City to get Torres and a bid could reach as high as £70m. Again, the lure of Chelsea and the Champions League puts us one step ahead of City so it will be interesting to see what Torres decides to do after the World Cup.
The Times has an full interview with Frank Lampard running on their site with an insight to Lampard from his childhood to the present day. Its a great read and explains that although Frank has the superstar status he has he keeps his head level and is very much down to earth.
You wouldn't get that impression from the headline of the article as it states:
Its a good read so make sure you check it out.
Now to the Didier Drogba injury as reported on here yesterday and you can check out the video yourselves. Didier was injured in what can only be described as a scandalous challenge by the Japanese defender. It looks like he will be out of the World Cup (this is still to be confirmed).
The Telegraph have an article running on the Drogba injury and go as far as to say that if Drogba misses the World Cup its a blow to a team, a country and a continent.
Its a fantastic article and explains the madness that surrounds him when he features for the Ivory Coast and what his presence means to his compatriots. One paragraph in the article explains exactly that:

Please make sure you check out the other two articles posted on the site since yesterdays Daily Drivel. There is the news that Chelsea have reportedly withdrawn their contract offer to Joe Cole and the great news that Michael Essien has signed an extension to his contract.
CAREFREE & KTBFFH EVERYONE!!

Frank Lampard – England’s odd man out. He went to private school. He reads The Times. And he may yet propel his country to World Cup glory!

To Ivorians, he is not a drama queen; he is the king. More than a superstar player, he is the man who, in a country where scars from war and violence find their balm in football, is seen as a life-changing figure.
