The Chelsea Daily Drivel is a daily update of all the stories concerning our club, the rumours, the opinions and more....
So here is the latest from around the web on Thursday 3rd June 2010....
Joe Cole, Ibrahimovic, Jack Cork, Nemanja Matic and Rafa Benitez are featured!.
Of course the big story on here in since yesterdays updates is what looks like a done deal between Joe Cole and The Arsenal. Check it out here and add your own opinions to the extensive amount on there already (Thanks to all for taking the time out to post).
There is also the story posted on here earlier. Its seems that Carlo Ancelotti had met up with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in Miami to discuss a transfer. Check it out here.
So what's occuring in todays Daily Drivel?.
Well firstly let's start with the news that Blackpool Manager Ian Holloway is looking to bring Chelsea youngster Jack Cork to the club. Cork enjoyed Premier League experience last season with Burnley and manager Brian Laws had been reportedly looking to extend his loan with the club for an additional season.
However, Blackpool boss Ian Holloway would like to step in and take him for this coming season as he believes a shot at another season of Premiership football would be in Cork and Chelsea best interests. If I had the choice of Championship and Premier League football then its no contest. Added to that a choice of working with Laws or Holloway?, Again no contest!.
Another player who could be loaned out for the coming season is reportedly Nemanja Matic. Matic who became a regular on Chelsea's bench towards the end of last season is being linked with a loan move to Italy, with Udinese or Genoa the most likely destination for the big man.
I haven't seen that much of him to be honest, he made a fleeting appearance in a game last season but Chelsea rate him highly as one for the future. Maybe this loan option would be a good move for the player. Italian football is alot different to English football so I would of thought a loan move like Jack Cork's would be a better option.
Next and let's turn our attention to Avram Grant who has just been confirmed the new West Ham United manager. Congrats to Avram on the appointment. Whatever people think of the guy he did a fantastic job at Portsmouth and I am sure given time he will move West Ham forward. As usual at the moment being banded about the media is the fact that he was just "A Captain's kick" away from winning the CL with Chelsea. Yes he was but let's be honest he picked up the pieces of Jose's team that season with Steve Clarke a major influence behind the scenes.
Clarke will be out the door at West Ham and Grant will need to bring his own staff into the club. With the two new owners of West Ham at the Helm and stating that everyone apart from Scotty Parker has their price he will have a job on his hands once more if he wants to make his time there a success. Good luck to him!.
Finally, the breaking news that DIDN'T take anyone outside of Liverpool by surprise last night was the reports that the Liverpool board got together to discuss a severance payment to Rafa Benitez to walk away from his role as the Liverpool manager.
To that every football fan outside of Liverpool is saying "Keep him there!" but its seems Chelsea boy Martin Broughton has decided enough is enough.
Liverpool fans, if you are reading this then let me just say something from a football point of view. Yes you have won the CL 5 times most recently in 2004 or 2005 whenever it was!. The season after the FA Cup but nothing since. Surely as a club and as fans you have to realise that after spending approx 250 million on the squad since he has been there you are left with a shambles!. Take Reina, Carrager, Gerrard and Torres out of the side and you have a mediocre squad who would be happy with finishing mid table!. The biggest mistake, and the cause for your downfall this season is the sale of Alonso. You have never replaced him and its cost you lot the Champions League and your Manager.
Do you think this has been ringing in his ears ever since he said it? Will this be the start of a mass exodus from Liverpool and could this mean Fernando Torres will come to the Bridge?

I guarantee we will finish fourth!
