With a score to settle after our defeat at the DW Stadium earlier in the season. Knowing we are just one more win away from our third Premier League title and after 10 hard months it all comes down to this one game!
I am saying it now Chelsea fans, the true die-hard fans who have been supporting the club for years and not the glory boys will know that we have not won it yet. It would be typical of Chelsea to put us through the ringer one last time this season but you have to say, Spurs game aside, that we look on form, at the top of our game and surely Sunday we will get the result and see us Champions once again!.
Let's be honest, at the DW stadium Wigan beat us fair and square and will take confidence from that game and bring it with them to Stamford Bridge. So I do expect a tight and close game in the first half anyway.
Carlo has already said that he is sticking with the same eleven that featured against Liverpool (Cech, Ivanovic, Terry, Alex, Cole, Ballack, Lampard, Malouda, Anelka, Drogba and Kalou) and after listening to his press conference its clear to see the side is confident about Sunday.
We must get on top of Wigan early doors, dominate possession of the ball and make them work hard to win it back. I like Ballack in the holding role as he can break up the play but also see a pass that others wouldn't as he showed against Liverpool. With Lampard on fire and in the goals again and (Players Player of the Year) Florent Malouda also on form Wigan will have a lot to deal with from our Midfield.
Expect to see Wigan looking to get amongst it in Midfield. Expect them to put pressure on the Chelsea man with the ball and look to utlise their own attacking threats during the game. N'Zogbia is a danger and will have to be watched. Rodallega is their top scorer and always has an eye for a goal so we have to be wary of him too.
For me though and some people may disagree but Titus Bramble is missing from their backline on Sunday and will be a big miss. With the front three of Anelka, Drogba and Kalou looking to break on Wigan and get forward whenever possible it could be a long afternoon for Martinez and his men.
What we all would like to see is an early Chelsea goal to calm our nerves and relax the players. I am sure that for a player in this position it is always about taking each game one after the other but I am sure with the importance of this one they may get nervous. We have big time players at Chelsea. Players who have won the league before and know what it takes and players who have won leagues in other countries who also know whats required.
Of course I am biased, of course I am going to predict a Chelsea win but in the back of my mind there is that slight doubt and wouldn't be surprised if we go a goal down first!!
The most important thing for us all to do is relax, get behind the boys and make ourselves heard. We aren't bothered about United or how they are getting on. Sunday is all about us, how we approach the game, how we start the game and if we can get that win to make us champions and have one half of an amazing double sorted with the Cup Final next week to go.
I predict an early Chelsea goal, to win 3-0 (Drogba, Anelka, Lampard)!
So for one more time in the Premier League this season its time to say:
COME ON THE BLUE BOYS! CAREFREE & KTBFFH EVERYONE! (Just remember, we need to wait for the final whistle)!
This is going to be Chelsea's EPL . They deserve the cup the way they have played so far justify it.
ReplyDeleteThey have beaten the top clubs ManU , Arsenal and Liverpool both in home as well as away matches. The Ancelottis squad is now just a game wawy from the cup , please focus on the game and win it for us Chelsea.
