One of the most ridiculous stories that has come out of the Press in the last few days is this one. Its purely and simply because of the plight that Liverpool find themselves in and the threat of missing out of the top four is becoming an increasing possibility, you really have to feel for them! its gut-wrenching I know.
The article indicates that Carlo Ancelotti is ready to pounce for Gerrard as there are rumours of him being far from happy at Anfield with what is happening. The article claims that because Liverpool are in massive debt, the owners could be tempted with a massive offer from Chelsea.
To me this is ridiculous. He isn't anytime soon going to leave Liverpool and why would we want Gerrard here when he has turned us down before? The only way in which I can see it happening is if Liverpool's league form continues to free-fall and they miss out on Europe, even the Europa League positions (would be such a shame!) and he would have to be sold because of their debt problems. Missing out on the Champions League is bad enough but to miss out on that too would be a serious problem.
But, like I say, I can't see this one happening.
