Breaking news from chelseafc.com:
"Chelsea have announced today that Peter Kenyon will be leaving the club in a full time capacity from October 31. He will continue to work as a non-executive director and represents Chelsea on various Uefa and European Clubs Association Committee's.He said:
"I am extremely proud of my time at Chelsea and of the friendships I have forged with everyone here. When I joined Chelsea it was an incredible challenge and together with all the staff, players, the board and Roman, I think we have really built a club, in short space of time, that can be in the forefront of European football for many years to come. That is a major achievement"
"I am also delighted that our relationship is not ending and i can continue to make a contribution to keeping Chelsea in that position and to go back to visit friends. I intend to take a little time off before considering what i do next but i am certain i have one major challenge left in me. I would like to wish Chelsea the best of luck for the rest of the season. I am sure Carlo can lead the team to great things!"So its happened. Its been speculated about for some time after the stand that Roman took when he sacked Scolari while Kenyon was away. There has been rumour that he wasn't party to the agreement when Mourinho's contract was terminated and also about Frank Arnesen. One thing is for sure though when you look back. He made a bold statement when he came to the club about putting Chelsea right up their with Europe's elite and you being honest you have to hold your hands up and say he has done just that!
All the best Pete!
