Ashley Cole new deal next for Chelsea

Well if the rumours are true Ashley Cole is the next key player at Chelsea to sign a new deal after John Terry and Didier Drogba. This is fantastic news as far as I am concerned as after a shaky start to his Chelsea career and all the stories about Jose' trying to get him to the Bridge in the first place, and subsequent fines, he has bedded in, worked hard and is now one of our most consistent performers week-in, week-out.

This season he looks as if he is really back to his best and a goal on Saturday against Burnley goes to show it!. Its been reported that the likes of Man City and Barcelona were interested in him but he has always said he wants to stay at Chelsea.

Its pleasing to see that he has settled now at Chelsea and has found his form. I know the Arsenal fans still will always call him Cashley Cole or things like that but to me he seems as though its never about the money. He has his reason for leaving Arsenal and for me it was a good deal. He started to show his quality in a Blue shirt last season and has carried on in that vein this season.

John Terry has made no secret in his desire for the futures of the key members of the squad to be tied to the club and to be around him for the same period of time and Ash will have all that confirmed in a couple of days.
For me there is a really good feeling about Chelsea at the moment. The players are together, they are all singing from the same hymn sheet and important contracts have been signed. I can see Ashley Cole and the Chels holding aloft more and more silverware come the end of the season and you never know, there just might be a World Cup in the offing too!
