Rumours are rife at the moment that Carlo Ancelotti has told Sheva that he will not be part of Chelsea's Champions League squad to begin with this season and this must be a blow for Sheva. It was reported that Shevchenko turned down a move back to the Ukraine before the season started as he was happy to see out the remainder of his contract at Chelsea but this has to be a blow for him.
Of course Chelsea will lose the likes of Drogba and Kalou in January for the African Nations Cup and this at the moment looks like the only chance that he has to make his mark in the side this season. He has made the bench already this season and has come on for only minutes and I can see this happening more often than not leading up to January.
The problem is that he has Drogba and Anelka in front of him along with Kalou and possibly Daniel Sturridge so he has work to do. The question is how much does he want it at Chelsea now and will he continue to work hard and fight for a place on the bench or will he look to seal a move away from Chelsea once more?. Tough times ahead for Shevchenko!.
