Didier Drogba is about to sign a new two year extension to keep him at Chelsea according to press reports that seem to be getting more and more momentum in the last couple of days, and also since John Terry made his statement about staying at Chelsea.
There is no doubt that Didier was one name that John Terry needed reassurances from Chelsea as plans for the future were discussed. Under Guus Hiddink Didier rekindled his "hunger" for the game and for Chelsea and his performances were good and he was back to his best and his goal in the FA Cup final showed that.
With the new manager in place now and with everyone fighting for their places, and let's not forget what looks like a new 4-diamond-2 formation meaning 2 up front, Didier should come out the blocks all guns blazing against Hull on 15th August. A couple of seasons ago with Sheva up front with him Didier had his best season for goal scoring and I can see this one being the same.
Ask any Chelsea fan and they will tell you, when he is on form, up for it and hungry for the game he is unstoppable as most Premier League centre back partnerships will vouch for. BUT, if he isn't he can drift out of games and can be a liability. Its great news for all of us if Didier signs his new deal and stays at Chelsea.
We just need him to realise that we do love him and we need him to be up for it game in game out and we want him to win our title back!
