Rumours are rife this morning that Arsenal will use some of the money recouped from selling Adebayor and Toure to Man City to come in for Chelsea's Saloman Kalou. Apparently we have already rejected (so the papers say) a bid of £6m whereas Chelsea value him at £8m.
Not sure about this one myself. I know there are alot of Chelsea fans who rate Kalou. But, there are others who do not. So this is a tough one to call. He is young, quick and defiantly has ability and the fans who like him no doubt will argue that he has never really had a sustained run in the side. He is either substituted if he starts games or comes on as a sub and never really has got going.
Of course their also is the African Nations Cup again this year which could be another reason to sell for those fans who do not rate him. I have to say at times I am in both corners. For the fans that love him, he has scored important goals for the side and will always give 100% whenever he plays no matter how long!
For the fans who do not rate him they will argue at times he can play very blinkered. He runs at players and isn't aware of the other players around him and misses an opportunity to play someone in, or cross it. How many times has he dribbled round his opponent but only to run the ball out of play. He can be as frustrating as Jesper Gronkjaer was for Chelsea.
But, one thing is clear, you can't really argue with Arsene Wenger's eye for a player and I'm sure that Kalou will get the football he is looking for at Arsenal. With Daniel Sturridge coming in to Chelsea I think you will find that Kalou has dropped down the pecking order at the Bridge.
But will he become a sting in the tail against Chelsea every time we play them? If he does go then fair enough. We applaud your willing to achieve and your hunger for the game but at Chelsea it was always going to be hard to oust Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka who look like they are the two mainstays up front this season.
