You have to hand it City. They are now the moneybags club in the Premier League and having already being linked with a ridiculous bid for Eto'o along with the astronomical wages they have reportedly offered, have now turned their attentions once more back to John Terry. This is something I can't believe.
They already made an approach and were told back then "Not for sale" and Terry came out and pledged his future to Chelsea till he hangs up his boots. So why come back in for him again? Obviously there is the uncertainty about Ancelotti coming in, but surely if anyone will know soon enough after starting at Chelsea on Wednesday, then Carlo will realise that JT is the lifeblood & the heartbeat of Chelsea. I can see why they have come back in for him as they realise that you can buy as many forwards as you like but you still need to defend and in my view he is the best there is.
Chelsea released a statement yesterday on the club website which said that an approach had been made for John Terry:
"It was made clear to City, for the second time following an approach last season, that we would not entertain any conversation on the subject. At that time John also reiterated his total commitment to Chelsea. We would like to make clear, and will not do so again, that John is not for sale"
This of course is great news for all Chelsea fans but come on, JT is not a Robinho type player and decides to swap footballing reasons for a move for money in his pocket. Players may do that at the latter stages of their career's but not JT. He doesn't need to move away from Chelsea. He wants to build on the successes we have already had and to bring home the Premier League and Champions League to Stamford Bridge. So for god sake City and take heed. JT is Chelsea and he isn't going anywhere!
