Carlo Ancelotti starts at Chelsea

So have just watched the live Carlo Ancelotti press conference on the Official Chelsea Website and I have to say I am impressed. As you know I have posted on this site that the Jury is out for Ancelotti but after watching that Press Conference he is beginning to win me over.

He made a big point about speaking in English whenever he could and the Chelsea press officer reiterated the fact that he wanted to speak in English which is great as there has been alot of press coverage about Scolari and how he failed.

Carlo Ancelotti stated that he is very happy to be at Chelsea Football Club and wanted to take the extra step to win the Champions League and of course the Premiership. He did still say that for him "The Champions League is the greatest competition in the world" but at least he recognises now that we still need to win our bread and butter.

Of course he was fired questions about John Terry, Pato, Yuri Zhirkov and Andrea Pirlo. He said that he doesn't want to speak about Pato and Pirlo as they are AC Milan players but he confirmed that Zhirkov is a Chelsea player and he wants John Terry to remain Chelsea Captain forever! Which is great news.

When questioned about possible transfer targets and if he has been promised money by Roman, Carlo Ancelotti said that he will look at the team and look to improve the squad but if there is no possibility then he is very happy as we already have a "Great Team" that has reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in 5 out of 6 seasons so already shows we are a great team.

He emphasised that he is a Technical Coach and has worked with different kinds of players and will want to look in pre season at the players we have before he decides on his formation for this season. He would prefer for Chelsea to play well to win games rather than play badly and win but "this is football".

On players leaving the club with the likes of Deco and Carvalho he said they are Chelsea players which didnt really shed any light on the situation with those two at the moment.

So I have been impressed with his Press Conference today and am looking forward to Pre Season starting on the 9th July.
